A certain detail set I'm trying to DBPUT a record in has 10 search 
items.  I have chosen the first (primary path) search item and am 
applying an item-level lock using that item and its value.  The 
lock succeeds, yet I am getting the -12 error (DBPUT called without 
covering lock in effect).  Perusing the Image manual and the Image 
handbook have yielded no answers.  We ran into this in the past 
and got around it by doing a data set lock, but I'd like to avoid 
that if I can.  Any ideas?
