Jonathan van den Berg writes:

Let me address Mr. Rego's curiosity. Premier Software Technologies, using
it's own process-2-process request/reply middleware has assisted numerous
companies in achieving this necessary tiering of application logic. The list
includes HP as well as a handful of NEW MPE centric organizations. We
firmly believe in this model, and in particular the HP3000's strength as an
application server platform.

Premier actively supports a variety of middleware technologies (Premier RPC,
DCE, Entera, IONA) using an visual interface definition toolkit. The tools
allow organization's to define and track the definition of "services"
(formerly referred to as methods). This visual and logical abstraction
serves as the basis to generate the necessary "C" and "middleware" code used
to encapsulate any MPE application/date source. Our technology works
exceptionally well at encapsulating COBOL on the 3K and providing an
Active/X-COM object to the client developer.

This technology is used to allow real-time connectivity to any MPE source.
In addition it is used to facilitate the real-time communication between
separate processes on separate MPE machines (MPE as a client). Note: The
technology supports all version of MPE, all the way back to XL versions.

I would be most happy to contribute. Would you like to schedule some time to
discuss our work, for this week perhaps? During meetings with CSY, last
month, they encouraged me to contribute a paper and presentation at HPWORLD.
I plan to. I do understand that the deadlines are passed; however I believe
that it is still possible to squirm my way in, we are a new company serving
the needs of the HP3000 community and I have been very busy launching the
latest marketing campaign.
