Dr. Mark Bryant and Dr. Terrie Salupo have received $30,736 from the
Tennessee Higher Education Commission to conduct a workshop for Hamilton
County middle school teachers. Last year, the Terra Nova Test results for
Hamilton County School indicated that sixth and seventh graders were below
the state and national averages in science. The goal of this workshop is to
train teachers to teach chemistry in the context of experiences that are
familiar to students, thus making learning easier and more exciting.
Specifically, the workshop will focus on chemistry principles in the
environment.

Please join the Office of Grants and Program Review in congratulating Dr.
Bryant and Dr. Salupo on this honor!
