The Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation has awarded $39,724 to
UTC's Office of Financial Aid to establish a peer counseling program.  The
program will assist secondary students in understanding the financial aid
process and will encourage disadvantaged and minority students to be
cognizant of and to pursue postsecondary educational opportunities in
Tennessee.  Peer counselors will work in the high school guidance offices
of area high schools.

Financial Aid on receiving this grant.
