 Dear Friends,

Thank you very much for your interest in the position in Wuhan,
China. I have contacted the school in Wuhan for more details about the
position, and the following is a summary of the details:

     1. The tenure of the position is one year and renewable.

     2. The job obligation is teaching standard American or British English
in the elementary and secondary schools. The curriculum emphasizes oral
and written English.

     3. The salary range is 1500-1800 Yuan per month, commensurate with
qualification;

      4. The successful applicants shall be provided with free housing,
which is a one bedroom apartment with heating and air condition, and free
meals. The teachers can dine in the school dining hall or cook their own
meals.

      5. There is a travel subsidy of one way air fare from Wuhan to USA
each year.

The salary does not look like a lot to us (one dollar is about eight
Yuan) due to drastically different standards of living. But it's worth
more than you thought if you spend it in China. Currently, as far as I
know, a monthly income of 500 Yuan is enough to support an average family
of four. 1500 Yuan is more than the monthly salary of a senior principal
engineer. Plus, this sum is the net income after free housing and meal.

If your are interested, please provide a copy of your resume, and
references if possible. You are welcome to contact me by phone or email,
or visit with me in my office, Grote 346.

Wuhan is the capital of Hubei province with a population of half
million. It is located on the Yangtze River. Its strategical location has
made it one of the most important cities centuries ago. It was one of the
major players in the modernization movement since last century, and the
Revolution of 1911 broke out in Wuhan that eventually led to the downfall
of Qing Dynasty. Being full of cultural heritage, Wuhan is a natural site
for many highly reputable universities, such as Wuhan University and
Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Its scenic East Lake and
historical sites have a lot to offer.
