Just a reminder!
The UTC Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of its music director Steven
Bird, will present an evening of orchestral music on Saturday, February 27,
1999 at 8 pm in the Roland Hayes Concert Hall on the UTC campus. The
program will feature voice faculty member and mezzo-soprano Jan Cochrane
singing with the 50 member university orchestra in Richard Wagner's
"Prelude and Liebestod" from his masterpiece opera "Tristan und Isolde".
The program will also feature Johannes Brahms' darkly magnificent "Tragic
Overture", and the tuneful and majestic "Symphony no. 2 in D major" by the
Finnish composer Jean Sibelius.
The concert is free and open to the public. For further information,
