Dr. Ahmed Eltom and Dr. Phil Kazemersky recently received a grant award of
$44,500 from a partnership of the Tennessee Valley Authority, the Electric
Power Research Institute, and the Tennesse Center for Reserch and Development.
The partnership's mission is to improve the economic development of the region
through supporting and furthering the educational and research capabilities
of UTC in the field of electrical engineering.
>
The purpose of Dr. Eltom's project is to reinvest in the Energy Conversion
and Power System component of the Electrical Engineering Curriculum at UTC.
The specific objective is to equip the power system laboratory in order to
forge new partnerships in applied research. The direct benefits to UTC
include increased student interest, upgrading of laboratory equipment to
applied esearch quality, and potential innovation in curricular
development. The direct benefits to UTC's non-student clients include
opportunities to partner in real-world problem-solving of system issues.
Thank you, Dr. Eltom and Dr. Kazemersky, for your commitment to improving
UTC and congratulations on your achievements!
