Has anybody else ever wished for an HPSECOND CI variable to go along with the
current time-of-day variables HPHOUR and HPMINUTE?
I have some CI scripts that append events to log files, but I'm forced to just
use HH:MM for a timestamp because there's no seconds variable, and I'm
too lazy to capture and parse :SHOWCLOCK output (the only CI command I know
of to display seconds in a timestamp).
If I was doing a SH script, I would simply do "TIME=`date +%H:%M:%S`" because
it's so easy. Sure, I could call DATE.HPBIN.SYS from a CI script, but I'd
have to redirect it to a temporary file, read the file into a variable, then
delete the file. Tedious!
It seems to me this would be a really easy CI enhancement, given that HPHOUR
and HPMINUTE already exist.....
