Currently we have two 996-600 with 80 4gig drives on one volume set and
a 996-500 with 96 4gig drives on one volume set. These machines also
have mirroring so the available space is 40 4gig drives and 48 4gig
drives. I don't know about system performance with this set up, but
nobody seems to be complaining.
