When we upgraded from a 987/200 to a 979/400 in October,we
had one vendor that wanted about $35,000 to move the license!
The fee for VESOFT was reasonable by comparison at $1600.
They didn't charge tier prices as the other vendor did. VESOFT
uses a flat fee. But, let's not get into the tier pricing discussion
again.

And yet to move a license from a series 70 to a series 918 I was charged
1600.00.
Where others Robelle, Adager, DataNOW, ESPUL there was no charge.

Hey, Security/3000 from Vesoft is a relatively cheap product. If you
have been
following this list in the past two days, there have been pointed
references to a
vendor of a well-known report writer that charges hefty fees. One lister
reported
this morning that that vendor wanted $2,500.00 just to "move" the
product from one
CPU to another. Vesoft is one of the third-party vendors that charge
modest fees for
some great products, and their support is excellent. There are several
others that I
could list, but I do not want to omit any of them so I'll desist. Tell
that to your
client! And tell your client, to be trite, "You get exactly what you
pay."

Subject: [HP3000-L] Idle Logoffs
I would like to know if there is a cheap/free way to log users off of a
modem if they have been idle for xx minutes. I know that Secure/3000
from
Vesoft will do this but my customer is looking for a in-expensive/free
solution.
Thanks for you help.
