Well, I searched all through the HP and Quest sites and could not find any
information on TPS. I'm not sure what public documentation was released,
but maybe I can help a little.

Of course, you need the version of the product that supports TPS, and it
needs to be installed in whatever manner is explained to use TPS.

Once you have completed the installation, you need to enable the database
for shadowing. This is done with DBUTIL using the ENABLE dbname FOR
SHADOWING command. There is a DISABLE command and the SHOW command will
display the status of shadowing. The shadowing product will be defined
during the configuration of the database for shadowing, and it is possible
that the shadowing product will enable the database automatically. If it's
done automatically, you do not need to use DBUTIL to enable the database.
Once enabled, with either method, TPS will work on this database.

There are no changes required to the program, and only DBOPEN, DBCLOSE, and
the DBupdate intrinsics are changed. The design is very similar to the TPI
interface, but is much simpler because there is no external impact on IMAGE
or a program. It is possible to get an error number (+/- 1nnn) on an
intrinsic call because of a TPS problem.

There are several areas of the root file that are modified when TPS is
configured on a database. I can't go into the specifics, but there are
things such as which TPS product is configured on the database.

I hope you were only trying to get TPS to work, which means this reply will
be helpful. If not, sorry to waste your time. You might try contacting
Quest for information. I believe there is information in their manual.
