From comments made previously on this list, it's my understanding that
DLT drives are self-cleaning and *never* need you to use the cleaning
tape unless some foreign matter clogs up the heads/mechanism in which
case the drive will detect this and explicitly ask for the cleaning
tape via an indicator light.
