Since Tom specifically asked about these products, I will limit my
response.
Yes, we have had experience using Time Machine on the HP 3000. Our
testing was extensive for the products and applications we were
testing. We only encountered one problem that had us stumped. We did
have 3rd party products on the machine and experienced some difficulties
interfacing with the MPEX "DATEBUILD" routine. (BTW: We were able to
work around this issue and achieve the results that were necessary to
validate the application as Y2K compliant.)
In all other senses, our testing was successful. The Time Machine
product performed as needed.
I already know that Stan would disagree and state that our testing was
not extensive. However, for the products and applications that we were
testing, the tests were extensive. None of the products or applications
beging tested use the spooler AIF routines - or rely on file date/time
stamps for validation. Consequently, you can do thorough testing - if
you know you test environment and applications sufficiently.
