Another thought.  With CD-ROM writers and the ability to create "best of"
CDs from YOUR OWN COPIES OF PRODUCTION AUDIO CDs (remember, copyright
laws!), perhaps you could select those CDs which contain only one or two
titles you routinely listen to and create a few assortment CDs containing
those "best of" titles, then store the original CDs in your basement or
some other out-of-the-way place (I think the copyright laws would require
you to destroy the "copy" if you sell or otherwise dispose of the original).
