Yes, LDEV 1 can be external.

Our LDEV1 which is a 1.3 Gbyte disk and all our 1.35 Gbyte disks will not
be supported from the 31/09/99.  This means that they all have to be
replaced before then.  We have a HA deskside storage enclosure which at the
moment contains only 1 4.3 Gbyte disk.

Can LDEV1 be in an external enclosure or does it have to be internal to the
processor?  I do not see any reanson why it can not so long as the primary
boot path is correct.
