In this age of enlightenment, how about "Guru"?
Actually, I have previously handled many of those same functions for a
different firm and held the title of "Senior Analyst". However, I think
that is a bit restrictive and outdated. I would suggest something more
current, perhaps any of the following...
"Information Analyst"
indicating the ability and responsibility of analyzing
all sorts of information related problems
"Data Resolution Manager"
indicating responsibility for resolution of all data
related problems. If the job is specific to the HP 3000
and there are others who perform similar tasks on other
platforms, you might include a '3K' moniker as well.
"Senior Solutions Provider"
Actually, this is the one that I prefer because whoever
is in this role for you is truly in the business of
providing solutions. If it were a "junior" level
position, I would doubt that these multiple roles
would be filled by a single individual.
As for salary information / recommendations, it is a hard one to call
because it varies so much by region. I am going to assume that you are
in the "CA" market (by the '.ca' on you e-mail tag). Since, I am not in
that market, I don't think it is appropriate for me to suggest salary
ranges...
