If you're on MPE/iX 5.5 PowerPatch 4, you should be able to do a :LISTF
<filename>,8 to see any accessors -- the command will also return a zero
accessors message. I don't think any jcw's or var's are set to indicate
return status of the command, though. PowerPatch 6 should contain an FINFO
function enhancement which will return the number of accessors of a file -
I believe the function number is 61, or the mnemonic, "ACCESSORS" or "NUM
ACCESSORS" may be used. I tried this on my 5.5 PP4+ systems, and they
don't work, yet. The PP5 or PP6 Communicators should have detail on these
changes.

Subject: finfo

Is there an finfo option to detect if a file is open?

Seems like finfo("filename","open") is more elegant than attempting to
purge or rename it and then checking jcw's or the file's continued
existence.
