Why not use a pc with log bottom to a disk file? If you had SAMBA the disk
file could be
on the HP3000 so that it could be included in backups. Or, if you are one of
*those* sites
that require a removable copy you could log to a zip drive.

I'm not in favor of printed listings because when you are looking back for
something it is
very difficult to cull through all the junk that gets spewed to the console.
OTH a disk file can be
searched with editor or grep.

You would still need a 700/92 terminal for the rare onsite HW support case,
but only in special cases to
satisfy the CE.
