Hello Jon Backus,

You may have been able to save yourself a network shutdown by
using NETTOOL.NET.SYS.  Once within NETTOOL, enter NAMEADDR...and then
ROUTING...and then GATELIST.  You would most likely see a column that
indicates a deactivated gateway (router), that is ACTIVE column = "N".  Try
issuing a GATEUP on the gateway IP address.  As with most things YMMV.
