Hello all,

Note: this posting has been mailed to the following newsgroups:
comp.sys.hp.hpux, comp.sys.hp.mpe and [log in to unmask]
I apologize if you receive duplicate postings.

I have a question regarding HP-UX customer usage of the almanac() call.
I will use feedback from the above newsgroups to help me decide if it is
acceptable to change almanac() to be compatible with MPE's choice of
using three digits to express the years beyond 1999, e.g., 101 for the
 year 2001.

 I need responses by December 1, 1998.

 --------------------
 QUESTIONs for customers on HP-UX 10.01, 10.10, or 10.20 using almanac(3X):

   1. Have you applied the Y2K patch (PHCO_15279)?

If so, have you adapted to the change in behavior with respect to
the displaying of the year value? I.e. 1999 as 99, 2000 as 00,
      2001 as 01, 2002 as 02 etc.?

   2. What company do you work for and how many systems have you already
tested for Y2K compliance with the above patch installed?

   3. If almanac() is changed to display years beyond 1999 the same as
      MPE, i.e., 1999 as 99, 2000 as 100, 2001 as 101, 2002 as 102, etc.,
will this adversely affect you? If yes, please explain.
