Michael already mentioned the "remote announce" directive. I have no
experience with that but did find using a WINS server somewhat useful.
You can either ask Samba/iX to work with an existing WINS server, if
your PC's already use one (wins server = xyz) or instruct Samba/iX to
let NMBD act as a WINS server, too (wins support = yes). As far as I
understand, all PC clients using the WINS server would find it helpful
for browsing, even across subnets.
