You can set a file equation to route the output to a disk file instead of a spool
file.

FILE <name>;DEV=DISC;DISC=<expected size if > 1023 or 10000 if COBOL>;SAVE;[CCTL |
NOCCTL]

You have to decided wether you want carriage control in the file or not. That's the
last parameter.

<name> is the name of the spoolfile that your program is writing to.
