ADBC Development Kit, Version 2.0.0 is about to be released in November,
1998. This version is similar to JDBC objects without ANY SQL OR
unnecessary ODBC overhead!

Features include:

* Improved object oriented approach and documentation
* Complete IMAGE access
* MPE KSAM SPOOL file objects (Create and Read\Write access for ALL file
types)
* JOB and SPOOL objects (gets job information and spool file information)

For those awaiting Turbo Beans (Java Beans), they will be available March,
1999!!! We need to complete version 2.0.0 of ADBC before we complete the
JavaBeans.

We will also be writing objects that use swing components.

> Naturally, the ODBC approach (which allows SQL-savvy client applications
to
> access IMAGE/SQL databases) also has its place, even though it does not
> perform as well as the direct native-mode intrinsic approach for
> high-powered OLTP...

I would also like to announce our Java/3k Bundle that includes:

*ADBC - For mission-critical applets and applications.
*JDBC (Minisoft's version) - For ADHOC reports and SQL application access)
*Javasoft's JumpStart - 600 meg, CD-ROM of Java books, reference materials,
and examples.
