The situation on the CDROM documentation for MPE (as I understand it):

The November 1997 LaserRom *is* the current version.

When 6.0 ships it will include a a totally new CDROM documentation
package called Instant Information, which is based on the DynaText
search engine and is the same system used to produce the docs.hp.com
web site.

Because of the effort required to convert manuals from the old LaserROM
format to the new format, and because some products are now obsolete,
the Instant Information CDROM will not (or at least not initially?)
contain all the manuals that are on LaserROM.

Because of this last point, 6.0 will ship with both the new Instant
Information CDROM *and* another copy of the November 1997 LaserROM.

To read all the manuals you will need to have both CDs and both viewers
installed, since new manuals will be on the Instant Information disc,
but many old manuals will only be available on the LaserROM disc.

This information is based on a letter that was sent to everyone on
support earlier this year.
