Not sure if this has been on the list, so here goes:

- need to upgrade from 7.29C8 to 8.19C2
- we use Omnidex TPI on TurboImage dbs
- PH production runs from CURRENT.COGNOS

Check with Cognos, they say no problem installing 8.19C2 files - they go into their own group, will not affect CURRENT at all. Allows us you to test new version before going into production. Follow the instructions and you'll have no problem.

Restore files - no problem
next step is to run a command file called COGSET.PH819C2.COGNOS. I do so and all of a sudden, QUIZ won't run!! Message is "The file being loaded is less privileged than the previous file in the binding sequence. (LDERR 602)". Two and a half hours and three phone calls to PH support later, and after playing with those incomprehensible PH udc's, we bite the bullet and restore the accounting structure from the weekend's full store.

It turns out that COGSET alters the security on CURRENT and in doing so, it removed AC on write, append and save. Now I am at a loss to explain what happened, but once we restored the directory, QUIZ ran again.

After this, PH support tells me "Oh, we've been telling people they don't have to do the COGSET." Well, ...

Anyway, be careful!!
