You and Jeff are having to do an awful lot of work, but I, for one, greatly
appreciate it.

Subject: Gateway and SPAM Filtering (Long, but a must read)

Good morning gentle folks:

Here's the decision, and what has been done.

The listserv will now send directly to the gateway server here. This means
that all posts will bypass the gateway and go directly out. This also
means
that if you, for example, use an ISP that is spam-blocked, it is no longer
blocked.

Reverse DNS *might* still be a problem. Again, those people with NOSPAM in
their domain names should put them on the left side, not the right. There
needs to be a <something>.COM, <something>.EDU, etc. for reverse DNS to at
least have a decent chance at working.

Jeff and I will be monitoring for SPAM. Some filters will be installed on
this side for obvious words and phrases. If messages containing these
words
or phrases are caught in a message, it will be held for release. This will
hopefully, keep the SPAM down. I'll be handling the incoming posts from
Usenet, Jeff will handle HP3000-L.

Just thought y'all'd like to know.

Best,
Joe
