OK, I give up.  I see nothing wrong here.

As a last chance shot in the dark, have you rebooted since your reload-the-
system :RESTORE completed?

I've seen patch MPEJXV9B mess up POSIX directories until you reboot.  Maybe
you have a similar corruption problem?

Have you run FSCHECK.MPEXL.TELESUP and the CHECKxxxx commands on your *idle*
system?  You might want to open an HPRC call before going down that road.
