Okay, okay!  I'm sorry I even asked the question! :-)

I left out one important detail and that is: I need to determine if 
today is the last day of the month in a job via the CI (preferably).
I guess it has to something to do with the 57 hours (and counting) 
that I've worked since Monday.

Anyway, thanks to all who replied and especially to Jeff Vance and 
Greg Stigers who provided some CI code that is way more elegant 
than what I had cooked up.

Why can't HP supply me with a system variable (like HPEOMDAY) that 
would be automagically set to the last day of the current month?
