Subject: RE: 3000 MODEM HOOKUP

For the USR Courier V.34 attached to a HP DTC port:
Command Strings:
AT&F Factory Reconfig
ATB0C1E1F1Q0V1X1
AT&A1&B1&C1&D2&G0&H0&I0&K1&L0&M4&N0&P0&R1&S1&T4&X0&Y1
ATS0=1S58=1
AT&W Write to NVRam
DIP Switches 3,8,9 set to ON

Above MIGHT be similar to the Sportster except for DB25 used instead of RJ45
at the rear of modem.

Key to getting it to work is:
&B1 Fixed Serial Port Rate (DTC 19,200 max) When configuring the
modem with an attached terminal, this serial port rate is set by the
attached terminal. Whatever rate you "AT" with, it sets at that
rate. Check terminal config rate first.
&H0 Disable TX data flow control
&I0 Disable XON/XOFF flow control RX data
&R1 Ignore RTS
&S1 DSR after dialing/DSR after answer tone

USR Courier HP DTC
RJ45 pins DB25

1 Ring Indicate 20
2 DCD 4
3 DTR 6
4 SGND 7
5 RX 2
6 TX 3
7 CTS 22
8 RTS 8

Subject: 3000 MODEM HOOKUP

I would like some information regarding hooking up a US ROBITICS SPORTSTER
MODEM
as a remote/support modem. I need to know the configuration strings and
cables needed to hookup to a serial port. Any system setup information
would also be very helpful.
Thanks in Advance,
PAUL
