Thank you for your response!

I will be monitoring the requests for performing the NFS functions from the
MPE prompt and will advise at a later date the results of customers and/or
prospects interested in these enhancements. Quest is in the process of
updating the literature and the web-page so this will be addressed in the
near future to reflect a POSiX prompt.

Thanks again for pointing this out.

Subject: NFS/iX for mpe?

John,

Now this is the type of response I like to see from a vendor!

It's not so much that I want the product changed. What irritated me was the
implication (in the literature *and* the support line) that you could
perform
NFS functions while at the MPE prompt.

I suppose the advantages to "MPEing" NFS are:
1) Easier to use
2) Error checking/handling would be simplified.

I believe we still would have purchased the product even if the
documentation
stated "Posix only."

In response to the recent chat on NFS from the MPE prompt. How many of you
there would like to see this enhancement to the product? Also please state
why
you think it will add value to the product. Anything else, suggestions or
otherwise we would love to hear from you.

We will consider this enhancement in our next development meeting. Until now
we have several hundred existing customers that have not raised this as a
concern. If there are those of you out there not willing to purchase due to
this lack of functionality we will be happy to incorporate this change.

Donna,

Just a word of advice/warning. You can't use NFS from the MPE prompt
(unless the product has drastically changed in the last 12 months).
