<rant>

I just spent the better part of 45 minutes, responding to a request by
Information Week to renew my subscription. They gave me my own URL in the
e-mail message, so all of my information is brought up.

The web server was an AS400 (cringe)

1. The initial URL took almost 3 minutes to come up with the initial page,
not including the graphics...

2. The server reset the connection twice, thus forcing me to restart the
whole process - there was no recovery when reloading the same page!

3. Each subsequent page (7 in all), took an average of 75-80 seconds to
come back.

If the AS400 is supposed to be the greatest e-commerce server out there, it
has a long way to go. Maybe we need an HP3000 in there, eh?

</rant>

Best Regards,
Joe
