Hi Dwayne,
We're using RJE on a 980-300 and had no trouble ugrading it from 5.0 to
5.5 pp4. You didn't say what kind of 3000 you're using, so there might
be a difference in the Programmable Serial Interface (PSI) card, (i.e. a
different card or different interface for it) or its firmware revision,
from what we've got on our 980. (Just a wag, based on the hardware
differences between, say, a 928, a 980, and a 997.)
Also, the PSI card is considered part of the network subsystem and is
configured via NMMGR (under IBM, RJE). Did you validate your IBM
configuration in NMMGR before upgrading? Do you get far enough through
the upgrade to stream JCONFJOB at the end? (It doesn't sound like it.)
If you want to compare patch lists, show me yours and I'll show you
mine. ;-) Really though, we haven't applied any patches since PP4 except
the reactive patches they sent us with it (which we also applied at the
time). But I'll mail you our 980's HPSWINFO file if you like.
HTH,
Patrick
