Are you aware of Quest's Netbase Client and SharePlex Bridge? NetBase
Client provides API's which you can compile into your Visual basic
application to directly access data on the 3000 via the native intrinsics.
This is much, much, faster than ODBC.

SharePlex Bridge allows you to push changes to a message file from the 3000
through an export that can then be accessed by VB and NetBase Client.

I apologize for the shameless product plugs, but these solutions work.

Subject: Automate HP to Access Database?

Is it possible to have a job on an HP3000 ftp a data file (comma delimited)
to
an NT file server (I know that's possible), and then have the FTP "session"
execute a program or script on the file server that will import the data
file
into Microsoft Access (all without human intervention)?
