I can give you a lot of examples/scripts where this is working alright, under 5.0
and 5.5(4).

There is currently only one problem by using temporarily files: they will not be
refreshed in 5.5 so that a rm is highly recommended.

Another problem: pipes on Multiprocessor systems. Sometimes this may cause
a System Abort (we encountered one so that I was asked by mgmt to change this
appropriate ...)

Best regards, Andreas Schmidt, CSC, Germany

Subject: CALLCI Problems in POSIX

I remember reading about problems with using callci from the POSIX shell. Does
anyone know if this can be fixed? We get errors occasionally when we use it. In
my investigation I have found that CALLCI actually runs the MPE command and
redirects the output to a file so that it can then be displayed in POSIX to
STDOUT. Well when it attempts to redirect the output sometimes it generates an
illegal MPE filename (> 8 characters). Another odd wrinkle to the problem is that
this problem will go away for a few months if we shut the 3000 down and restart.
We are using 5.5 Express 3 (I believe)
Any insite into this matter would be appreciated. We are using the HTTPD
webserver and this problem breaks our scripts - when it starts happening.
