Thanks for the info. Tonight I disconnected the MAU from the rest of the
LAN, put a Tee with two terminators on it, and received the same 002E
error. Then I tried disconnecting the MAU cable from the processor
(unplugging the 15 pin connector) and received the same error... but in the
process I noticed that some damage had been done to the locking slider on
the female connector (connector on the card). Then I noticed that the plug
very easily rocks up and down through about a 90 degree arc (yikes!). Upon
asking around, it appears that a repair man (non-computer type) "was
leaning against the system yesterday and popped a connector off, but he put
it back on". The system was off at the time. So, I guess my next task
will be to find a new 15 pin female connector to replace the damaged
connector. Hopefully that will cure the problem.
