Hello,

it seems that some links have been missed. I got the following information on how
to set up INETD on HP3000:

* check existence and content of hosts.net (req.)
* check ... services.net (req.)
* check protocol.net (req.)
* check reslvcnf.net
* check inetdcnf.net (req.)
* check inetdsec.net
* check bootptab.net (req.)
* ensure that there are links defined in
/etc/hosts to HOSTS.NET.SYS (NEWLINK command),
and so on for the required files.

These links in /etc looks like:

   0 lrwxrwxrwx   1 MANAGER.SYS       0             15 Apr 23 14:41 bootpd ->
/SYS/NET/BOOTPD
   0 lrwxrwxrwx   1 MANAGER.SYS       0             17 Apr 23 14:41 bootpquery ->
/SYS/NET/BOOTPQRY
   0 lrwxrwxrwx   1 MANAGER.SYS       0             17 Apr 23 14:41 bootptab

Subject:  inetd

Hello,
I thought I would play with qcterm last week. Found that I need to start
inetd to let it work (after making sure I allow only one class C license of
IP's to use it). When I came in today, I found that the system logfile had
filled with errors coming from inetd. Seems that ever 10 minutes it has
also been displaying errors on the console.
Here is what was in the inetd job stream that was aborted this morning:
 :run inetd.net.sys

Can anyone tell me what is cuasing this? Do I need to comment out all these
lines except for telnet, ftp ,tftp (services that HP3000 seems to run OK)?
TIA
