In a "limited" fashion, you can utilize the 'smbclient' program
available in the Samba/iX distribution to connect to an NT 4.0
hosted printer, and send a file to it to be printed. Since
NT 4.0 includes the smb server as part of the OS, and Samba/iX
is available as freeware (ftp://www.3k.com/POSIX/samba.htm) and
will also be included as part of FOS as of MPE/iX 6.0, you have
everything you need for "simple" transfering of files. This is
by no means a robust mechanism, but for occasional use where
the file to be printed doesn't use any formatting features, it
works.
