Listers,

Has anybody else experienced this problem? When trying to connect to
telnet there can be a long delay (about 20 seconds or so) before getting a
logon prompt. This happens coming from a Xyplex terminal server and
through a telnet gateway on a firewall. I have seen it on three different
systems, all running on 5.5 PP4.

This behavior is documented in SR5003324277 and supposedly is "fixed in a
future release." Does anybody know if this was actually implemented?
According to the SR it was considered a "corner case" problem. I wonder if
because of that the enhancement may have slipped a bit.

Were this to work correctly would be a big boon, IMHO. The issue of
routable DTCs and/or bridging goes away when you can put Brand X telnet
terminal servers anywhere on your network to handle dumb terminals.

Thanks for all your thoughts or input.

Doug.
