Joeseph,
The information you provided will be very useful to us; thank you! We
are planning on going to 100BT not because of poor on-line response time
but because our 10BT on our 995 is nearing the saturation point and
we're starting to have a lot of dropped packets as a result (according
to our network folk, verified by HPRC). We also plan on upgrading our
frame-relay so we can do things like FTP 200 MB files to remote offices
without it taking all weekend.
I found the information on the DTC setup very interesting, but now I
have a question: Our DTCs are not managed by our 3000s but by an
OpenView workstation running OV/DTC Manager. Does the same setup
(needing to configure LAN2 for DTC use, etc.) apply here? I know some
things don't work the same if you use OV/DTC Mgr (for example, you can't
use the Dynamic Configuration option for DTCs in NMMGR or the DTCCNTRL
command if you're using OV/DTC Mgr) and I'm wondering what the story is
on this one.
Thanks again,
Patrick
