Redefining "break" key.

If I telnet to an MPE5.5 machine using a telnet client running a vt100
emulation, how do I send a break key to the MPE session?
Alternatively, how do I change it (to, for example Control-C).
(I have actual written the Windows NT telnet client, so if someone can
tell me what the "break" key actually sends, I can probably emulate it).
