While trying to restore a system after a disk crash, I rebooted the
system from an SLT and reloaded some files taken from another system's
backup. Firstly, the command.pub.sys file was corrupted but that , I
think , was another problem and I fixed that by rebuilding it. The
problem I have now is that I cannot access any commands in the Posix
shell. I get an "$" prompt and "unknown command" when I put in any
commands (e.g. chmod etc). I think that part of the problem is that the
/etc/profile file is missing or not being executed but how can I copy or
change it when I have no access to commands? It's probably an easy
answer but I would appreciate any help.
