Greetings!
We are considering implementing dynamic dataset expansion on some of our
client databases. We are using HP30391C.07.06 TurboIMAGE/XL.
Currently we're using DB-Change Plus version A.02.04 and it will only allow
changes to detail datasets. We need to expand Master Datasets, of course. I
understand that we need a newer version of DBCPlus, but I still have two
questions: The Image manual (6th Ed. 8-1997) pg. 10-6 says that Master
datasets are expanded when "almost full...." That is, when a DBPut will not
be successful. Does anyone know how drastically performance is affected when
the master dataset nears capacity? Is there a way to trigger the expansion
before it's "almost full", lets say when the dataset reaches 90% capacity?
Thanks!
