I agree. It's a good idea to create these separate backups - as long as the
reload is planned - and in this case it was.
Unfortunately it's not very practical for normal everyday partial or
everyweek full backups. May everybody's reloads always be planned ones.

I believe restore does have exactly that option.
Specfically,
:restore *t;@[log in to unmask]@;create;olddate;volset=volset1
:restore *t;@[log in to unmask]@;create;olddate;volset=volset2
will restore only the appropriate files only to their appropriate volume
sets - yes, even when specifying the "create" option.
