Hi all,

Thanks again for your fast responses to our DSTAT questions.

It looks like we will change the default DSTAT output to handle 5 digit
LDEVs by shifting the LDEV field 2 characters right.  All rows will
align, even if the LDEV number is less than 3 digits.  This was
"Choice 2" in our previous posting.  Also the model number field will
be 12 bytes thus shifting the default output an additional character right.
The model field will be silently truncated for disks with models longer than
12 bytes.

Here is a sample:

It was very close between MB or GB for the disk capacity unit of measure.
Since disks will likely continue to grow in capacity, my preference is
to use GB with one decimal point accuracy, e.g. "28.7 GB" or  "0.5 GB"

We need to show the date and time for the EVENT field.

It looks like most of you prefer DSTAT ;format=DETAIL to show all data
labels for all devices, even if the field makes no sense for the devices
being displayed.  One last vote (maybe:)

Q: for fields that do not apply to a device do you want to see
the value as blanks or something else?
