Paul Christensen tells the tale...

> I was wondering if anyone has heard of a who's who listing of IT
> Professionals?

[rest of tale snipped]

This is a total scam. I've been solicited by Who's Who in IT, Who's Who in
Business - there's a Who's Who for everything. I have a friend who was
solicited for Who's Who in Education...

Every single one of them have one common thread... They want you to buy the
damned book. You could be a person no one would hire - you can get listed.
If you don't buy the book, you wasted a lot of time answering questions
because you don't get listed.

I remember getting a resume from someone with the feature that they were
listed for the last three years! I called him in. He stressed this, and
said that he was one of the elite. I showed him the door with the advice to
take that off his resume - that he just showed me how gullible he really
was.

So - if you get one of these - file it quick - in the nearest circular file!
This is their "get rich quick" scheme.

(Oh, and BTW - the price of the book has skyrocketed! It used to be $89. I
guess they can't find enough people who want to be listed an willing to pay
for the privilege. Good!)

Cheers,
Joe
