Chen,
I have most often seen this in a program that is trying to put data into a
table, where no table entry exists, like position zero or something. If you add
BOUNDS to your $CONTROL line, you should get a more understandable error telling
you exactly what is happening, and where in the code it is. Give that a try and
see what you get.

Hi friends,
I had a Native Mode COBOL program running without any problem for
months, but suddenly one day went into error. The program is just doing
some reading turbo-image database.
