Here's a little chuckle for the day. I received a MS word doc
from a customer as an attachment, saved in word 6.0 format, evidently
using word'97.

The doc has a list of 21 numbered items with item #14 having 3 sub
items with letters (a-c). Here is how various MS applications treat
this MS document:

1. word 7.0a (word'95)
   numbers them 1-14 a,b,c correctly, then starts over for 1-7 (instead
   of 15-21).

2. wordpad
   numbers them 1-14, but item #14 has the sub-items as o,p,q
   (instead of a,b,c); then numbers the items 18-24 (instead
   of 15-21).

3. notepad
   works correctly.

I must say, that without this most entertaining and inconsistent
interpretation, I could not have had such a good time wasting so
much of the same.

Now - where DID I put that win'98 upgrade box...
