I'm not sure, but I configured 2 of my customers DLT's as 2 different
ldev's with different paths. When they wish to use the device as a
HPC1521b, they set the scsi address on the device to its correspondingly
configured ldev. Likewise when they wish to use it as a DLT4000. That way,
they can be sure they have a way of reading their old tapes.
I'm not sure this was really necesssary I (I haven't gone back to these
customers to check yet) but it was better to have a flexible configuration.
Incidentally, since the DLT4000 is supported only on a dedicated SCSI card,
this method works very well and the scsi addressed can be easily changed
without affecting any other devices on the same interface since there are
no others.
