Obvisusly that works for Jim, but it looks like you are just extending
your LAN over a router/bridge (depending on configuration of the Cisco
766)...

Sorry that the diagram got busted.  There is an HP3000 off at the end of
the DTC.

This may work depending on how the TA is hooked up.  If the output of
the TA is an RS232 async connection this is nothing more than using a
digital modem.  It is *not* extending the LAN.  So it should work fine.

If you replace the TA with something that does bridging or better yet
routing, then you can get full LAN access to your HP3000.  That is the
model that Jim showed above.
