Art,

Being another avid Mac user (as is Bruce), I can tell you from
experience that FUD stands for Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt. We Mac afns
have long endured "news" articles about the death of Apple, the death of
the MacOS, and most recently the "death" of Rhapsody (which hasn't died
but been reincarnated as MacOS X). So we know FUD when we see it.

And yes, IBM originated FUD. I find it particularly ironic that IBM, in
this case, will realize the benefit of the death of DEC, something it
has (or at least had) long desired in the mainframe market, from one of
its PC competitors !!
